Petition to Release Home Office Grooming Gang Review Nears 100,000 Signatures

The government is refusing to release official research on the characteristics of grooming gangs, claiming it is “not in the public interest”.

A petition started on the UK Government and Parliament Petitions website is now nearing 100,000 signatures – the amount required to compel the government to debate the notion in parliament.

Petitions on the site are given 6 months to run – but it doesn’t look like 6 months will be needed in this particular case. This petition was started on the 5th of March, and has nearly achieved the 100,000 mark in just 4 days. In 6 months, how many millions will have signed?

This just shows the level of anger among the British public.

Of course when it inevitably does reach 100,000 (and goes far beyond) don’t get your hopes up too high. They’re only going to “discuss” it and will probably come to the same conclusion they always do: that going against “cultural sensitivities” is more taboo than wide scale gang rape.

Still, make sure you sign the petition.
